If you’re specifically thinking of using a credit card to convert HSBC Reward points to Krisflyer miles, or for miles with another airline partner, you’ve got a few great options. Rewards can also be redeemed as other perks and benefits, offering flexibility for different customer needs.

Before you choose the card for you, it can pay to examine the HSBC miles credit card conversion rates so you’ll know you’re getting the best rewards available. You’ll also need to check out:

HSBC Revolution Credit Card

The HSBC Revolution Credit Card has no annual fee and allows you to earn a huge 10x on rewards (which equals 4 miles) when you shop online. This could make it a great pick for people who use ecommerce sites frequently.

  • Minimum annual income:
    • Singapore citizens and permanent residents - 30,000 SGD, or 40,000 SGD if you’re self employed
    • Foreigners - 60,000 SGD
  • Annual fee: No annual fee
  • Miles earning rate:
    • 4 miles on online spending*
    • 0.4 miles on all other spending, with no cap
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3.25%⁵

*10x Reward points = 4 miles

You can get the HSBC Revolution Credit Card by meeting a minimum income requirement, or as a secured card with a 10,000 SGD deposit. There are sign up bonuses and cash back which depend on whether you’re a new or existing HSBC customer, and no annual fee to worry about.

This is the only HSBC travel card with no annual fee - but as with all the other HSBC credit cards, there’s a 3.25% overseas transaction fee which pushes up the costs when you spend with foreign ecommerce sites, and when you travel.

HSBC Premier Mastercard Credit Card

The HSBC Premier Mastercard Credit Card is only for HSBC Premier Customers who must meet various eligibility criteria to achieve Premier status. There’s a fairly high annual fee, but this card offers lots of travel, lifestyle and dining benefits.

  • Minimum annual income:
    • Singapore citizens and permanent residents - 30,000 SGD, or 40,000 SGD if you’re self employed
    • Foreigners - 60,000 SGD (All applicants must be HSBC Premier Customers)
  • Annual fee: 490.50 SGD
  • Miles earning rate:
    • 1.2 miles per $1 on local spending
    • 2 miles per $1 overseas
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3.25%

To apply for this card you need to achieve HSBC Premier status which means holding a balance with HSBC of 200,000 SGD or more, having Premier status abroad, or taking a home loan of 1 million SGD or more⁶.

If you are accepted for the card you can get a suite of elevated travel and lifestyle benefits including complimentary international travel insurance, Priority Pass airport lounge entry, discounts and exclusive offers with HSBC partners at home and around the world. You may also be eligible for a welcome gift, depending on your card usage.

HSBC Visa Infinite Credit Card

The HSBC Visa Infinite Credit Card has a high minimum annual income and annual fee, but offers travel benefits and perks.

  • Minimum annual income: 120,000 SGD
  • Annual fee: 607.48 SGD
  • Miles earning rate:
    • 1 mile per $1 on local spending
    • 2 miles per $1 overseas
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3.25%

If you’re accepted for the HSBC Visa Infinite Credit Card you can get travel insurance up to 1 million SGD, airport lounge access to 1,100 lounges, and travel and lifestyle concierge services to help with flight and hotel bookings, and arranging dining.

HSBC TravelOne Credit Card

The HSBC TravelOne Credit Card has an excellent range of travel perks and benefits and a high earning opportunity. The annual fee and income requirements are relatively low, making this a popular card among people looking to maximize their rewards with low fees.

  • Minimum annual income: Singapore citizens and permanent residents - 30,000 SGD, or 40,000 SGD if you’re self employed. For foreigners - 60,000 SGD
  • Annual fee: 196.20 SGD
  • Miles earning rate: 1.2 mile per $1 on local spending, and 2.5 miles per $1 overseas
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3.25%

The HSBC TravelOne Credit Card has a quick earning mechanic, of up to 2.5 miles per dollar for overseas spending. You’ll also get other travel perks like 4 airport lounge visits annually, complimentary travel insurance and ID theft protections. On sign up you may be eligible for extra bonus reward points which can also increase your earning opportunity.

There are various other lifestyle perks and discounts through HSBC partners which can make this a great card for travel purposes - just watch out for the foreign transaction fee which pushes up the costs of your spending when you’re abroad.

Conversion rates depend on the card you have. To give an idea, on the Premier card and the TravelOne card, you can get 1.2 miles for 3 HSBC Reward points. On the Visa Infinite, the rate is 1 mile for 2.5 HSBC Reward points.
